The Masutani Hamono Kokuryu VG10 Damascus Tsuchime Santoku 170mm is a light, versatile Japanese kitchen knife made in Echizen, Fukui. Its stainless VG10 core offers strong edge retention with straightforward everyday care, while the layered Damascus cladding and hammered tsuchime finish give the blade an elegant, tactile character.
At 144g, this santoku feels nimble in hand. The 46mm blade height provides comfortable knuckle clearance, and the thin 1.8mm spine tapers to 1.0mm near the tip for clean, controlled slicing. The natural-toned Scotch wood western handle is shaped for a familiar, secure grip.
